Making a Donation

In Loving Memory Donations
Losing a loved one is always traumatic, and people will often want to know how they can help you at this sad time. Many people connected to CF believe that setting up an online donation page instead of flowers is a nice way to honour their loved ones. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with our office by email here so that we can help you with this.
Fundraising
Hold your own fundraising event
How about holding your own fundraising event to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania? Our supporters have been very creative over the years in what they have undertaken. Examples include a community market, home shopping events, quiz night, market stalls, fun runs, boot camps, workplace baking competitions and sales.
One very creative young man even waxed various parts of his body to raise funds for CFT – he had a range of fundraising targets, and as each one was raised, one more thing was waxed. This dedicated supporter even waxed his eyebrows as he reached his final target! Now that’s dedication. But you may not be so keen to try that. So here are some other ideas that could inspire you:
Hold an afternoon tea
A sausage sizzle (Woolies or Bunnings allow community groups to hold them at their businesses)
Organise a golf day
Get together with friends or neighbours and hold a monster garage sale
A karaoke night
Photo competitions
A quiz night in your local town
Set up a charity car wash
Design a cryptic car rally
Hold a community fun run in your local area or town
Have an exhibition of something – model trains, Lego, collectibles
Host a wine, whisky or gin tasting
Take part in a fun run (such as point to pinnacle) and ask friends to sponsor you
Organise a raffle with donations from local businesses
Organise a mega scavenger hunt
If you would like to consider running your own community fundraising event, our team at CFT can assist you in publicising your event through social media, providing marketing materials, CF collection tins and merchandise, and volunteer vests. If you aren’t sure how to run an event, we can advise you on what you need to consider. To ask for advice, contact us by email.

Special Occasion Fundraising
Birthdays, anniversaries and more.
Our members and supporters often like to nominate CFT to receive donations instead of presents at special events – for example, birthdays, engagements, weddings or anniversaries. This is a beautiful idea – especially if you don’t want items that you don’t know what to do with – even though they are given with love. We can set up a donation page for you.
