Financial Support
Special Financial Assistance
We appreciate that living with a chronic condition can present some financial challenges, especially with the increased cost of living.
We provide financial assistance for members struggling to pay for items such as pharmacy bills, food, and other vital purchases. If you live remotely and must travel significant distances to attend your clinic visits, we can also consider contributing to your petrol costs.
Applications for Special Financial Assistance need to be endorsed by the CF Social Worker or another medical professional from the CF clinic.
Aaron Mackrill Memorial Scholarship
Named after CFT’s former President, these scholarships are offered to eligible members with CF wishing to undertake post-compulsory education or training. This can occur at a University, TAFE college or another nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation.
Aaron Mackrill was President of CFT and the 2007 Tasmanian Young Achiever of the Year. Just before his death in April 2010, Aaron asked for a scholarship program to be established in his name instead of flowers. Along with donations following his passing, the Scholarship program became a reality with a $5,000 grant from the MyState Foundation.
Scholarships are valued at up to $1500 for full-time study and are paid to recipients in annual installments throughout the study.
